"Kitties are blessings in furry bodies."

My life with kitties is never dull.
I never thought I would be doing paintings of cats. After we got our first cat, Miss Joshua, many ideas began to evolve. She inspired a whole new direction in my work. Up to that point, I was primarily focused on creating fantasy art.

My background is in illustration, art direction and game design in the entertainment industry. I started my career as a freelance airbrush illustrator in Dallas, Texas producing illustrations for companies like Disney, Pixar, Warner Brothers, American Airlines, Texas Instruments, Pepsi-cola, Frito-Lay, Bic Pens, etc. You can see some of that artwork in my illustration section.

In the mid 1990s I was offered a position at DreamWorks Interactive in Los Angeles, Ca. It was a dream of mine to work for my childhood inspiration, Steven Spielberg. The entertainment industry was a new adventure where I began learning more about storytelling with my artwork by working on interactive products and computer games. I worked on games like Metal of Honor, Clive Barkers Undying, Need for Speed and EvilDead Regeneration. As I moved more into Art Direction, I enjoyed leading a team of artists, animators, and technical artists. I have had the honor of working with some of the industries best talent.

As a Art Director, I learned how to create concept art to guide the artistic vision of each project. Concept art is also called visual development which is a skill to help lead a team and project by breaking down the visual elements. I was creating worlds, characters, effects, color choices, lighting and story elements. You can see a lot of my concept work on my professional entertainment portfolio.

My journey lead me to Big Fish Games in Seattle where I became the senior art director. I worked on the Mystery Case Files and Hidden Expedition series of hidden object adventure games. These games were so much fun to work on because it was a mixture of art, story and puzzles. You can see a collection of my Big Fish Games work here.

Eventually my personal vision began to develop into a world inspired by my 5 fur babies (cats). After a long career serving clients needs, it became clear that it was time to focus full-time on bringing my ideas and stories to life. If your interested in helping me fulfill this calling, please consider joining my Patreon page.  It helps me feed my cats.

My wife and I moved to New Mexico to get out of the big city and just create art each day. My hope is that my work will inspire you to have hope and faith. I feel very blessed to be able to do something I love. Please join our newsletter to stay up to date on all the new art, fun things and overall kitty goodness.
